Donald Hayn
URBANA – Donald "Sonny" Hayn, 77, of Urbana, formerly of Ogden, passed away at 11:39 a.m. Friday (Aug. 15, 2014) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at St. John Lutheran Church, Royal, with Pastor Jay Johnson and Pastor Rich Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Royal. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements.
Donald was born Nov. 10, 1936, a son of Carl and Frieda Hayn. They preceded him in death.
He married Rosalie Brownfield on March 23, 1957, at St. John Lutheran Church, Royal. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2010.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra (Gary) Mitchell of Homer and Donna Bradley of Bement; two grandsons, Nolan and Nathan Bradley; four sisters, Helen Humphrey of Ogden, Clarene Johnson of Fithian, Lois Samson of Mesa, Ariz., and Jo Ann Lynch of Newman.
Donald retired from Illini Pest Control after 26 years of service.
He enjoyed helping his family and friends, spending time with his grandsons, taking a drive around the area towns and countryside and visiting with his neighbors and friends.
Donald enjoyed fishing as much as he could and was a Cubs fan. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Carle Heart Center for all the care he received during his illness.
