HOMER – Eva A. Pruitt, 78, of Homer passed away on Monday (Nov. 24, 2014) at her daughter's home in Tolono.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Homer. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pruitt was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Danville, a daughter to Arthur and Martha DeVoe Kammin. She married Ervin Pruitt on April 19, 1966. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1973.
Surviving are her seven children, Joanna Seals of Tolono, Jackie (Tim Hawkins) Brown of Urbana, Mike Pruitt of Urbana, Nila (Lee) Kenney of Urbana, Bill (Jane) Hancock of Homer, Tammy (Jerry) Leisch of Tolono and Jesse (Tammie) Pruitt of Homer; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Anna) Kammin of Gifford and John (Pam) Kammin of Homer; and sister, Carolyn (Dwayne) Blaney of Rantoul.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Kammin; and her parents.
She was employed at Champaign Children's Home (Swann's School) for over 20 years.
She loved her grandchildren and was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed jigsaw and word puzzles.
