WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dane Paul Lareau passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Washington, D.C., Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 45 years old and a proud veteran.
Dane is survived by his fiancee, Sonia Hutchinson Trask; three children, Austin (20), Madison (11), and Caitlyn (5); five siblings, Cherie Libka of Homer, Susan (Mike) Scruggs of Bourbonnnais, Michele Lareau of Savoy, David (Phyllis) of Allerton and Dan of Urbana; and close family and friends.
Dane was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Mary (Morris) Lareau of Allerton.
He served in the U.S. Army for six years as a diagnostic radiology technologist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WDC) and in Frankfurt, Germany, achieving the rank of E4. Later, he served as an interventional radiology technologist at George Washington University Hospital (WDC).
He was a member of the Broadlands Masonic Temple Lodge 791. As a constant learner, Dane continued his professional education at Howard Community College (Columbia, Md.).
Dane was a kind, caring, deeply emotional man who will be dearly missed by his family and numerous friends around the world. His presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Walnut Hill Shelter at Homer Lake Forest Preserve.
