GIFFORD – Margie L. Huls, 90, of Gifford passed away Tuesday evening (Oct. 18, 2016) at the Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.
She was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Compromise Township, a daughter of Fred and Tennie (Aden) Olson. She married Ernest Jasper Huls on Jan. 26, 1947, in Gifford. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1996.
She is survived by a son, Virgil L. Huls of Gifford; two daughters, Velma J. Huls of Champaign and Vera E. Huls of Gifford; four brothers, Eldred Olson of Colfax, Eugene Olson of California, Ervin Olson of Central America and Earl Olson of Leverett; a sister, Marcella Stephanou of Rantoul; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and a son, Vernon Huls.
Margie was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville, where she played with the kitchen band. She also enjoyed sewing and baking.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 Saturday morning at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Cindy Bisser will officiate. Burial will follow at Huls Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 Saturday morning, also at the church.
Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, is handling the arrangements.
