Philip M. Brown, 72, of St. Joseph passed away at 7:19 PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Philip was born on Sept. 29, 1951 in Danville, IL, son of Jack and Patricia (Gaydos) Brown. He married Cheryl A. Kemmer on Dec. 31, 1987 in Danville.
Philip is survived by his wife, daughter, Amy Dorsey (Jake), sons, Ryan Roberts (Cara), Travis Brown (Samantha), and Mark Brown; grandchildren, Hanna, Patrick, Henry, Isabel, Owen, Jack; mother, Patricia Brown; brother, David Brown; and his beloved cocker spaniels, Ruby, Katie and Trubel. He was preceded in death by his father Jack.
Philip graduated from Purdue University with an Engineering Degree. He worked at Tepper Electric in Champaign for 20 years. He owned and operated Hoagies Bar and Grill in Danville until his retirement in December of 2013. Most recently he and Cheryl own and operate Brownies Gaming Parlor and Laundromat in Homer, IL.
Visitation will be held at Freese Funeral Home in St. Joseph on Sunday, Nov. 26 from 2-4:00 PM.
The family would like to specially thank nurses Max and Maria that cared for Philip in his final hours.
