Mildred A. "Millie" Sage, 81 of St. Joseph passed away at 9:18 A.M. Sunday December 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 31, 2025 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 802 E. Douglas St. St. Joseph. Pastor Emil Blobaum will officiate. Burial will be in Kopmann Cemetery.
Millie was born March 11, 1944 in Champaign. The daughter of Lammert J. and Anna L. (Blue) Wilken. She married Darold D. Sage on September 16, 1967 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Gifford. He preceded her on May 8, 2021.
She is survived by her daughter Heidi (John Samilian) Sage of Evergreen, CO. Brothers Melvin (Kathy) Wilken of Armstrong, Mervin Wilken of Idaho. Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John Wilken, Elmer Wilken. Sisters Marilyn Wilken and Emma Rademacher.
Millie was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, followed by being members at Evergreen Lutheran Church Evergreen, CO, and Emmanuel Lutheran Church Venice, FL She retired from Carle Pharmacy RX Express in Champaign-Urbana. She received a Pharmacy Tech degree from Parkland College.
She enjoyed drawing and sketching, spending time with family and friends and her daughter. After retirement Millie and Darold moved to Evergreen, CO for 8 years, then to Venice, FL before moving back to St. Joseph.
Millie was a kind woman, wonderful wife and extraordinary mother who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church or the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.
