Nicholas Warren Dalrymple
Nick was born February 22, 1948 in El Paso, Texas, the son to Isaac Joseph Dalrymple and Evelyn Valeria Dalrymple. He married the love of his life Georgia Ann Ference on August 12, 1972 in Wilmette, IL, and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sarah (Dan) Cassem of Tolono, IL, Suzanne (Robert) DeRouchie of Johns Creek, GA, and five grandchildren: Kayla DeRouchie, Peyton McDougal, Emma DeRouchie, Phoenix Cassem, and Link Cassem.
Nick was an Army Veteran and beloved teacher for 35 years in Sidney, IL, teaching 2nd graders “everything they know.” He spent his free time at Homer Lake Forest Preserve as a Master Naturalist. He was a loving husband to the love of his life for over 53 years. He was the best father, and even better Grandfather, who loved his family very much. He spent his retirement making arts and crafts, self-proclaimed jack of all trades, master of none. He led a life of service, and he took “love thy neighbor” seriously. The world was better with him in it.
“I want to leave when I decide. It is in bad taste to prolong life artificially. I have done my part, it is time to go"
