Louise Morgan
HOMER — Louise Morgan, 86, of Homer passed away at 6:45 a.m. Friday (Sept. 9, 2016) at Amber Glen nursing home in Urbana.
There will be a funeral service at noon Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Kirby Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St., Homer. Randy Walters and the Rev. Teri Shane will officiate. The burial will be in the GAR Cemetery in Homer. There will be a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until noon Monday at the funeral home.
Louise was born on Feb. 11, 1930, in Homer, a daughter of Lynn and Zelda Olive Ellis Jackson. She married Donald Morgan on March 24, 1951, in Homer. He survives.
Also surviving are three children, a son, John (Deborah) Morgan of Batavia; a daughter, Peggy (Michael) Jenkins of Homer; and a daughter, Nancy (Steve) Hoffman of Farmer City. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tara Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, Leslie (Ryan) Frenk, Danielle (Paul) Huston, Michael Morgan and Rebekah Hoffman; and three greatgrandchildren, Mya Huston, Juliana Frenk and Ian Huston.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Olive Walters, and one brother, Harold Cromwell.
Louise was a 1948 graduate of Homer High School and then attended Illinois Commercial College. She was a volunteer for the Crisis Nursery.
Louise had a strong faith in the Lord, and her passion was helping people. She loved quilting, reading and her collection of dolls, with Shirley Temple being her favorite.
