FAIRMOUNT – Marilyn V. Lynch, 82, of Fairmount passed away at 1:05 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 25, 2016) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Marilyn was born on April 25, 1934, in Homer to Edward and Mary Frazier White. Marilyn married Russell Lynch on July 12, 1953; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Jennifer) Lynch of Fairmount and Kerry (Brad Hurt) Lynch of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; two daughters, Julie (Steve) Price of Cody, Wyo., and Joni (Bill) Markel of Homer; and nine grandchildren, Angi Luhrsen, Joshua Price, Uriah Price, Lindsey Gates Markel, Jessi Gawthorp, Kaleb Shields, Keith Shields, Abigail Moldovan and Anna Lynch.
Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Angie McKenzie and JoEllyn White; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by one son, Keith Lynch; one daughter, Jayne Lynch; her grandson, Brandon Markel; great-granddaughter, Macey Duewer; as well as two brothers, Jack White and Fred White.
Marilyn was a graduate of Homer High School and attended Illinois Business College.
She retired from the University of Illinois Beckman Center after 24 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairmount and loved her family. Marilyn enjoyed helping people; as an example, she read books for many years to a visually impaired gentleman in Champaign.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. The Rev. Mike Roberts will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the GAR Cemetery at Homer. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Robison Chapel.
