ST. JOSEPH – Pearl Myers, 100, passed away at 8:39 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 4, 2016) at her home.
Private services will be held. Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements.
Pearl was born on Dec. 17, 1915, in Sidney Township, the daughter of Charles Chester and DeEtta Mumm Place. She married Hubert Meyers on March 2, 1936, in Michigan. He preceded her in death in October 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Dixie (BJ) Hackler of St. Joseph; six grandchildren, Greg Myers, Kristi Sutter, Kim Crum, Traci Jarvis, Gene Myers and Tonya Bayler; 16 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis (Marvin) Koski of Urbana.
She was preceded in death by her son Don, six brothers, one sister, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pearl was a farm wife all of her life. She enjoyed yard work, flowers and sewing. She kept in touch with her family and liked to attend all her grandchildren's sporting events.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Carle Hospice or G.A.R. Cemetery.
