Leon J. Harms

CHAMPAIGN — Leon J. Harms, 67, of Champaign passed away Wednesday (Jan. 18, 2017) in Manitowoc, Wis.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, with Pastor James Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Kopmann Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Leon was born on Oct. 28, 1949, at Champaign, the son of John and Margaret Bruns Harms.
He is survived by his children John (Andrea) Harms of Humboldt, Iowa, and Jami Harms of Mahomet; three grandchildren, Camden, Grady and Grace; his mother, Margaret Harms of Champaign; and sister, Gloria Harms of Champaign.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Barbara Harms of Champaign.
Leon worked for Chizek Trucking in Manitowoc, Wis.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Charlene Lewis

OGDEN – Charlene Lewis, 88, of Ogden passed away at 4:08 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 5, 2017) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Ogden United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery, Fithian. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph.
Charlene was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Ogden, the daughter of Charles W. and M. Gertrude Seessengood Denhart. She married Carl D. Lewis on Dec. 7, 1944, in Tampa, Fla. He survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Carl W. (Linda) Lewis of Ogden, Richard (Kathy) Lewis of Marshall; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven R. Lewis; one brother; and two sisters.
Charlene was a member of the Ogden United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of various committees.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with family.
She was a member of the Ogden American Legion Auxiliary and Ogden's Women's Club.
Charlene attended Ogden High School. She worked at Magnavox, K-Mart and Lincoln House Restaurant.
Memorials may be made to the Ogden United Methodist Church or the Ogden-Royal Fire Department.
