Catherine Hall Clinebell

MAHOMET – Catherine Marie Clinebell, 93, of Mahomet passed away 11:28 a.m. Sunday (July 19, 2015) at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Kirby Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St., Homer, with Pastor Teri Shane officiating. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Catherine was born on Dec. 6, 1921, in Homer, the daughter of Palmer and Waneta Burrows Davis. She married Harold W. Hall and later married Col. Glenn L. Clinebell in March 2000. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Ronald William (Janet) Hall of Mahomet; grandchildren, Steven L. Hall of St. Joseph, Anthony William (Millie) Hall of Spencer, Iowa, Melinda S. (Barry) Willard of Bonaire, Ga., Jeffrey S. (Dawn) Hall of Flanders, N.J., and Ryan C. (Tracey) Hall of Savoy; 11 great-grandchildren, Joshua Hall, Chelsea Willard, Jordan Hall, Christine Willard, Ryan Hall, Jude Hall, Grady Hall, Christian Hall, Samantha Hall, Kaleigh Hall and Mason Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by five sisters and one infant brother.
Catherine was a member of Mahomet Methodist Church, DAR, Homer American Legion Auxiliary, VFW, Mahomet Methodist Bible Study Group and the Reserve Army Officers Group.
She was the owner of Cathy Hall and Associates Insurance Office in Champaign. She was the first female to own an insurance agency in Champaign County in 1971. Her hobbies included gardening and traveling.

Marilyn Bruce

CHAMPAIGN – Marilyn Bruce, 78, of Champaign, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Saturday (July 18, 2015) at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, with the Rev. Don Orr officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bruce was born on April 15, 1937, at Waynetown, Ind., a daughter to Gordon and Dorothy Fine Weber. She married Donald W. Bruce on June 23, 1957, in Crawfordsville, Ind.; he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Melinda (Steve) Branch of Savoy; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Galbreath and Conner Branch of Savoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Delores Crews; and a brother, G. Leon Weber.
Mrs. Bruce battled with the effects of Alzheimer's for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Home Extension, euchre club, and she was a 4-H leader.
She enjoyed square dancing, her cats, playing the piano, spending time with her grandchildren and canning vegetables from her garden.
She was employed at several insurance agencies over the years, including Indiana Insurance.

Terri Butler Pierce

SNYDER, Okla. – Visitation memorial for Teri Butler Pierce, 55, of Snyder will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
She bravely passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at her home in Snyder, Okla.
Teri was born on Jan. 29, 1960, in Urbana, to Richard and Mary Butler of St. Joseph.
Survivors include her boyfriend, Kelvin K. O'Connell of Snyder, Okla.; her oldest son, Daniel Pierce of Savoy; youngest son, Robert Pierce of Champaign; her sister, Debra Kreger of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Isabella, Lestat and Corey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Teri was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Pierce of Urbana in 1999; a brother, Gary Butler; and her parents, Richard and Mary Butler.

Evelyn Ruth Hodgson

CHAMPAIGN – Evelyn Ruth Hodgson, 87, of Champaign passed away peacefully on Monday (July 6, 2015) at Helia Healthcare Center, Champaign.
Evelyn is survived by five children, Steven (Susan), Michael (Nancy), Donna (Bruce), David (Donna) and Mark; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Ruth Watterson Henley, and sister, Delores C. Felkner.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Ogden.
She was a loving mother and homemaker. She will be missed by family and friends.

Pauline "Polly" Collins

ROYAL – Pauline "Polly" Collins, 87, of Royal passed away at 1:28 p.m. Sunday (July 5, 2015) at Country Health Nursing Home, Gifford.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at St. John Lutheran Church, Royal, with Pastor Jay Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Royal. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements.
Polly was born on March 14, 1928, at Champaign, the daughter of Roland H. and Gertrude Kienietz Shortsleeve. She married William "Bill" Collins on Sept. 11, 1949, in Royal. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 2003.
She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Carol) Collins of Royal, Jerry Collins of Royal and Mark (Renee) Collins of Champaign; two grandsons, Michael (Jennie) Collins of Yorkville and Matthew (Kamber) Collins of Clarksville, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter, Anna Collins; and twin sister, Geraldine (Robert) Osterbur of Royal.
Polly was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Royal. At church, she was a member of the St. John Women's Quilters Guild, Lutheran World Relief and the Mary Circle Bible study; she also served on the church council.
She was a member of Royal American Legion Auxiliary.
Polly graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a R.N. at Mercy Hospital in Urbana.
Polly, along with her husband, owned and operated Collins Grocery in Royal.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Country Health Nursing Home of Gifford and Prairie Winds of Urbana.

Daniel Seastrand

ST. JOSEPH – Daniel Philip Seastrand, 90, a longtime resident of St. Joseph, passed away at his home on Tuesday (June 30, 2015).
Dan was born on Aug. 4, 1924, in Reynolds, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Forces from 1943 until 1945.
He met his wife, Bettye, during the war while stationed in Kansas City, Mo. They were married in Kansas City on Aug. 24, 1944.
He made his career in agriculture. First, as a farmer in Reynolds and Aledo, Ill., and then as a field manager for the Farm Services Agency. In 1960, he took a position as president of the Federal Land Bank in Champaign. He retired from the Federal Land Bank in 1985.
Dan and Bettye moved to St. Joseph in 1962 where they were active in the community and church. He was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. He, along with Bettye, was named St. Joseph Citizen of the Year in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Mary Kistler Seastrand and Carl Joseph Seastrand, his wife Bettye Marie Hunter Seastrand, and a son, Donald Philip Seastrand.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura Ann and her husband, Lambros Missitzis, of Chicago.
Memorial contributions may be given to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph or Dan's favorite charity, Aleluya Ministries, 310 O'Hara Drive, Pharr, TX 78577.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 802 E. Douglas St., St. Joseph, with Pastor Seth Jersild officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements.
