Bruce David
ST. JOSEPH – Bruce David, 97, of St. Joseph passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 31, 2013) at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, with the Rev. Jud Travis officiating. Burial will be in Murdock Cemetery, Murdock. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bruce was born Dec. 24, 1915, at Murdock, the son of Louis and Cora Chaffin David. He married Louise Duncan on Oct. 4, 1938. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, Ronald (SunHu) David of California; grandson, Bruce David of California; and sister Alice Shumaker of Broadlands.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Bruce farmed in the St. Joseph area until 2006 and also worked as a locksmith. He lived on the farm from 1941-2006.
Bruce enjoyed fishing and woodworking and loved gardening and spending time with his wife.
