ST. JOSEPH – Ruth Gebbink, 86, of St. Joseph passed away on Tuesday (Nov. 11, 2014) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Ruth was born May 28, 1928, in Stanton Township. She married Glenn Gebbink. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by two sons, Morris (Paula) Gebbink of Parker, Colo., and Roger Gebbink of St. Joseph; a sister, Leona Marshall of Rossville; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Ruth worked as a caregiver in the area. She was a member of the American Legion Post 634 Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed working outside and doing needlepoint and crosswords.
