Billy B. Mullen

Billy B. Mullen, 84, of Danville, Illinois passed away at 1:05 a.m. at Carle Hospital.

He was born in Pekin, Illinois on July 29, 1937, the son of Delbert and Beatrice (Layne) Mullen.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Dawn Money of Norris City; son, Travis Mullen of Danville; two grandsons, Houston Money and Ty Money, several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Sally Kittell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Marsha Wilson and one brother, Larry Mullen.

Bill graduated from Unity High School in 1955 and served overseas in the U.S. Army for two years.

Throughout Bill’s lifetime he worked in the grocery business throughout Central Illinois.  He started his career as a butcher at Norm’s in Urbana and owned Bill’s Super Foods in Rossville.  He later became the founder, owner and butcher at the Rawhide Meat Company in Danville, from where he later retired.

The family would like to thank the 7th Floor doctors and nurses at Carle Hospital for their care they gave to Bill while he was there.  A celebration of life will be held at Sarge’s Tap in Danville on July 30, 2022.  Bill would have been turning 85 years old this year and we all know how he loved to celebrate.
