Marvin Duitsman 90, of Ogden passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 5, 2026.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 13, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, Royal. Pastor Richard Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Royal. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Freese Funeral Home 302 E. Grand Ave. St. Joseph is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin was born April 5, 1935 in Ogden Township. The son of Louis and Ida (Huls) Duitsman. His dad later married Marie (Duden) who treated him like a son. He married Alice Roelfs on November 17, 1954 in Flatville. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughter Jody Martinie of St. Joseph. 3 grandchildren; Nic, Kaleigh and Neal. 3 great grandchildren Adreona, Kolton, and Ryleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Stan Duitsman, and two brothers Virgil and Everett.
Marvin was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was a member of the choir. He farmed in the Ogden-Royal area all his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Royal American Legion Post.
He enjoyed camping, playing cards, fishing, having cocktails with his buddies, and playing slow pitch softball.
