CINCINNATI – Rosalyn Jeanette Anderson, 91, formerly of Homer passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Glendale Place Nursing Home in Cincinnati.
Mrs. Anderson was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Urbana, a daughter of Arthur and Mary Riley Hardyman. She married Vernon Anderson on Sept. 29, 1944, in Duluth, Minn. He died March 14, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Maryellen Witte of Cincinnati; a son, Paul (Wanpen) of Champaign; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Cyndi) Witte of Mackinaw, Annette (Dave) Eberhardt of Cincinnati, and Tim and Angela Anderson, both of Champaign; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Stanley Hardyman.
She was a member of Mount Healthy Christian Church in Cincinnati, Memorial Christian Church of Rock Island and the Homer Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Anderson graduated from Homer High School in 1942 and then attended cosmetology school in Champaign.
She owned her own business, Jeanette's Beauty Shop in Homer, before moving to Rock Island, Jerseyville and Davenport, Iowa, where she worked as a beautician and in retail. She and Vernon retired to Homer in 1988, then Lake Placid, Fla., and finally, after the death of Vernon, to Cincinnati where she lived with her daughter.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
