Cinda Mullis Pridemore

Cinda Pridemore

CHAMPAIGN – Cinda Mullis Pridemore, 60, of Champaign passed away on Monday (April 14, 2014) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Sept. 21, 1953, to "Sailor" and "Bea" Mullis of Homer. She married Gene Pridemore on Oct. 30, 1992. They combined hearts as well as families, and they shared three daughters, Christine Nargelenas of Fairmount, Colleen Hatton of Champaign and Elizabeth Hatton of Urbana, and one son, Jeff Pridemore of Sidney.
She is survived by her husband, children and her beloved grandchildren, Katherine Hatton, Chandler May, Hailey Doeden, Kevin Doeden, Lily Doeden, Olivia Nargelenas and Jackson Nargelenas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Madeline Mullis Shreeves and Glenda Mullis Shreeves.
Cinda was a teacher at Judah Christian School for almost 25 years. She had gone back to the University of Illinois to become a teacher in 1984 and she found her true calling. She loved being a teacher and teaching fourth grade was her favorite grade. She was able to evaluate each student's needs and make sure that each received what was needed to succeed.
She was also a very active member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed prayer groups, vacation Bible school and youth club.
She was a proud grandmother to all of her grandchildren, including the children of many of her friends. She loved them all and was always sharing their accomplishments.
She loved to travel with Gene. Whether it was a nature trip to Michigan to look for rocks or just to have coffee in another state, she loved a good car trip.
More than anything, Cinda loved her friends and family. She was always happy to go out of her way to help someone and loved to just spend time with the people that she loved. She will be missed by many family, friends and students.
The visitation to celebrate Cinda's life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Faith United Methodist Church in Champaign, and the memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 23, 2014, at Faith United Methodist Church.
The family will have a memory box for family and friends to bring loving memories to share. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Judah Christian School Financial Aid Fund to help continue Cinda's passion for education.
