FITHIAN – Francis Pauline David, 78, of Fithian passed away at 9:21 p.m. Sunday (June 1, 2014) at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday June 5, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Homer. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Francis was born in Fairmount on March 12, 1936, to Jessie and Violet Collins Penrod.
Francis was the valedictorian of the Class of 1954 at Ogden High School.
She volunteered with the senior citizens, including Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, sewing, gardening and canning. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She worked at Yanor Insurance Company, Homer, and the IGA and Jewel Deli.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas B. David, and her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Larry David; son, Steve (Dorothy) David; daughter, Cindi (Tom) Wilzbacher; son, Jeff (Nancy) David; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Wayne Penrod; and two sisters, Jean Bloemker and Margaret Smith.
