ST. JOSEPH – Sharen E. Kloster, 77, of St. Joseph at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 6, 2015) at home.
Graveside services will be at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kloster was born on May 29, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Earle and Ida Maxine Fryrear Kloster. He married Judith E. Nipp on Jan. 30, 1965, in Oquawka; she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Mark David Kloster of Antioch; one brother, Daniel Andrew Kloster of Snowmass, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Andrew Kloster.
Mr. Kloster received his master's degree from the University of Illinois with honors.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Kloster retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as an environmental protection specialist.
He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Reserve Officers Association of the United States, Association of Former Intelligence Officers and AARP.
