Robert W. "Bob" Schiff

ST. JOSEPH – Robert W. "Bob" Schiff, 90, of St. Joseph passed away at 8:15 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 17, 2016) at Amber Glen, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, with the Rev. Norm McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.
Bob was born on March 6, 1926, at Urbana, the son of Phillip and Ruth Mahn Schiff. He married Edith Munds on Sept. 20, 1947, in Urbana. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2015.
He is survived by three sons, Don W. (Eva) Schiff of Pontiac, Darrell D. (Mary) Schiff of St. Joseph and Dale J. (Linda) Schiff of Collinsville; grandchildren, Andrea (Neil) Dose of Belvidere, Ill., Ingrid (Brandon) Schwoerer of Washington, Ill., Michael Schiff of Chicago, Troy (Ashley) Schiff of Urbana, Todd (Bailey) Schiff of Ogden, Kelli (Mat) Williams of Troy, Ill., and Jennifer (Todd) Hechtof Troy, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Landon and Ingrid Dose, Nora and James Schwoerer, Owen Schiff, Dean Schiff, Beau Hauersperger, Noah Starr and Sam Starr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and Maurice Schiff.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Urbana.
He farmed in the area for 40 years. Bob was also on the Mount Olive Cemetery board for over 50 years. He was the St. Joseph Township clerk.
Bob enjoyed bingo, woodworking, travel (especially to Las Vegas) and bus trips.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers who helped keep him at home, especially Sally Fiscus; she was the daughter he never had.
