ST. JOSEPH – Mary Ellis, 67, of St. Joseph passed away at 6:58 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 2018) at her home.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born Feb. 27, 1950, at Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of Howard and Rosella Bockhold Ellis. She married Charles "John" Ellis on Dec. 28, 1997, at Champaign. He survives.
She is also survived by her children, Eric (Laura Boyd) Ellis of St. Joseph, Heather Ellis of Champaign and Jay (Donna) Bartels of Venice, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Myron Ellis.
Mary retired from Busey Bank after 30 years of service. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and the rest of her family. She also enjoyed traveling and reading books.
