ST. JOSEPH — Dottie I. Olson, 82, of St. Joseph went to be with the Lord at 8:55 p.m. Friday (March 9, 2018) at her home.
Funeral services will be private. Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dottie was born June 21, 1935, at St. Joseph, the daughter of Frances E. and Mida McCarty Jarrett. She married Vernon Olson on Feb. 27, 1955, at St. Joseph. He preceded her on Jan. 21, 2005.
She is survived by her children, Shelly Burke of Mt. Prospect, Sheryl (Dwight) Franzen of Urbana and Gary (Nancy) Olsonof St. Joseph; eight grandchildren, Abbie (Matthew) Albanese,
Jennifer Burke, Brittany (Matthew) Emadi, Kathrine (Justin) Burrell, Emilie Franzen, Ory (Nicole) Olson, Isaiah (Kathryn) Olson and Bria (Michael) Cessna; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Dottie was a homemaker and helped her husband and family farm in the St. Joseph area.
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
