Evelyn Frerichs
ROYAL – Evelyn C. Frerichs, 86, of Royal passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (April 24, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, at St. John Lutheran Church, Royal, with the Rev. Jay Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Royal. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Urbana, the daughter of Heye L. and Bertha L. Busboom Albers. She married Harm W. Frerichs on March 10, 1945. He preceded her on Feb. 15, 1996.
She is survived by her children, Danny (Karlene) Frerichs and Mitchell (Debra) Frerichs, both of Royal, Ronald (Kathy) Frerichs of Ogden and Marc (Cindy) Frerichs of Royal; nine grandchildren, Kelly Lay, Ryan Frerichs, Troy, Brandon, Bryce Frerichs, Travis, Jenna Frerichs, Meridith Frerichs and Megan Walsh; and six great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded by her parents; stepmother, Verla Albers; and twin brother, Elvin E. Albers.
Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Royal, where she was head of the Cradle roll at the church. Evelyn was a housewife and worked 25 years at Cap and Gown.
She was a Cubs and Illini fan. She was known as an excellent seamstress. Her biggest pleasure was spending time with family.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Country Health, Brookstone and Prairie Village for the care they provided Evelyn.
