David Fitch

OGDEN – David Fitch, 70, of Ogden passed away at 11:45 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 19, 2015) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph, with the Rev. Michael Meener officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Penfield. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
David was born on April 30, 1945, at Clay City, Ill., the son of Jonathan and Beulah Hough Fitch. He married Caroline Frye on April 8, 1967, at Philo. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Anita (Dan) Wright, Duane (Tracie) Fitch and Christy (Bobby) Bowser, all of Ogden; grandchildren, Jason (Britney) Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Marty Wright, Mitchell Wright, Spencer Fitch, Parker Fitch, Colton Bowser and Calyn Bowser; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Evynn Johnson; one brother, Ron Fitch of Mount Carmel; and two sisters, Karen (Bob) Kilby of Kinmundy and Barbara (David) Dennis of Flora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Roy Dale, Lyle, Jerry, Lowell, Kenny and Raymond Fitch.
David was a veteran of the National Guard. David worked construction for 45 years.
He was a member of the Royal American Legion and served on the Ogden Zoning Board.
He enjoyed camping, spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and Diabetes Association.
