Harold A. Silver Jr.


URBANA – Harold A. (Pud) Silver Jr., 88, of Urbana died at 4:33 a.m. Saturday (June 4, 2016) at the Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy.
A memorial reception will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.
Mr. Silver was born July 21, 1927, in Urbana, the son of Harold A. and Dora A. Willard Silver Sr. He married Virginia Barcus on Oct. 23, 1964, in Urbana; she survives.
Also surviving are six children, Tom Silver of Monticello, Neal Silver of Rantoul, Kem Broeker of Urbana, Kevin Broeker of Quincy, Andy Geung of Garland, Texas, and Trudy Beaucamp of Fenton, Mo; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one grandchild.
Mr. Silver was a salesman for Woodhouse Company. He also worked airport security at Willard Airport and was a court bailiff for the Champaign County Sheriff's Office.
He graduated from Urbana High School and Parkland College.
Mr. Silver was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He loved his family.
