Joseph B. Stanfeld

ATTICA, Ind. — Joseph B. Stanfield, 65, of Attica, Ind., formerly Homer, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Friday (April 20, 2018) at home.
Joseph was born in Burnham Hospital in Urbana on July 4, 1952. He was the son of the late Russell L. and Helen Alice (Malloch) Stanfield. Joseph was raised in Homer, graduating from Homer High School in 1970. While attending Homer High School, Joseph played football, and in 1968 helped them become the only undefeated Conference Champion in Homer High School history. On May 26, 2012, he was inducted into the Homer High School Hall of Fame.
Joseph worked as a trackman for Norfolk Southern Railroad
for 29 years. He retired in 2008 and moved to Attica, Ind.
Joseph was a member of the Attica Moose Lodge 1482. He loved to fish and work out. He enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge and visiting with his friends. He cherished the time he spent with his grandkids. He had an amazing laugh that nobody would forget.
Joseph leaves behind a son, Joey S. (Jeri) Stanfield of Attica, Ind.; daughter, Jolynn Stanfield of Champaign; two grandsons, RykerStanfield and Alex Santoyo; three granddaughters, Halle Stephens, KaitlynSantoyo and MaCay Norton;
brother, Jared (Pam) Stanfield of Homer; and two sisters, Maryann Childers of Homer and Lona Ennen of Thawville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jock Stanfield, along with two sisters, Teresa and Cindy Stanfield.
Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, Ind., on Saturday, April 28, from 2 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m. (EDT) with family speaking and sharing memories.
