Rondeau K. DuFrane

Rondeau K. DuFrane, 79, of St. Joseph passed away at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday (April 18, 2018) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph. The Rev. Phil McGarvey will officiate. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery, St. Joseph, with military honors. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rondeau was born April 4, 1939, in Decatur, the son of John F. and Jewel Collins DuFrane. He married Mary Elizabeth Johnson in 1964. He later married Rita Alice Rawdin on Nov. 10, 1973. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 2014.
He is survived by his children, Mrs. Jackie (Jeffery) Ohl of Mahomet, Mr. John DuFrane of Champaign, Ms. Erin DuFrane of North
Liberty, Iowa, and Mrs. Darla (Jon) Copsy of Mattoon; eight grandchildren, Lauryn and Ryan Ohl, Jack and Nina DuFrane, Peyton and Aaronson Woods and Samantha and Danielle Copsy; and sister, Gaye Lee of Balstrap, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Rondeau worked 46 years for Illinois Central Railroad. He was a veteranof the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of VFW Post 634 in St. Joseph, AmVets, American Legion Post 71 and the Marine Corps League. He volunteered for several years at the D.A.V. He helped pack boxes and send them to our troops overseas.
He enjoyed coin collecting, candle making and working in his yard. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
