SIDNEY — Loren E. “Jr.” Fear, 84, of Sidney passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2019) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, with the Rev. Tabitha Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Fear was born May 31, 1934, in Weedman, a son to Loren C. and Florence Price Fear. He married Elinor Carrell on Jan. 7, 1954, in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Richard (Beverly)Lear of Quitman, Texas, Roger (Pat) Fear of Plainfield and Ronda Fulkerson of Ogden; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Dorothy Gallo of Saybrook, Marilyn Quinn of Saybrook, Ed Fear of Hot Springs, Ariz.,
Linda (Jim) Graham of Warsaw, Mo., and Charles Fear of Mystic, Conn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a greatgrandson, Ashton Miller.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing many instruments, including the steel guitar. He was a ham radio operator and an electronic technician.
