Daisy Buchanan Hartman

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Daisy Buchanan Hartman, 74, of Highwood, Mont., passed away June 9, 2024, surrounded by her family in Great Falls, Mont.

Born in Champaign on Feb. 8, 1950, to Robert and Alberta Buchanan, she grew up and attended schools in Homer. Her faith was a cornerstone of her identity and remained strong throughout her life.

In 1972, she wed Marlin Wagner. In 1976, Marlin and Daisy were involved in a plane accident where Marlin was tragically killed. Miraculously, Daisy survived. In 1994, Daisy married Rich Hartman in Highwood. She was the director of the Highwood Senior Center. More than anything, she would battle these injuries to the end of her life. She was fond of those summers when Roberta would visit and together they would enjoy the serenity and abundance of wildlife at Glacier National Park, Watertown, Alberta, Canada and Browning, Montana and The Blackfeet Reservation. And some of Daisy's best friends were her beloved cats.

Daisy is survived by her husband Rich and his three children. Also surviving her are sisters, Norma (deceased), Roberta and Eve Robertson Lyman.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Champaign County Humane Society.
