ST. JOSEPH – Lucille E. Conrad, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away at 9:10 p.m., Thursday (Feb. 22, 2018) at her home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Lucille was born Oct. 14, 1927, in LaGrange, to parents John and Caroline (Achterkirchen) Graehling; they preceded her in death.
Survivors include five children, Daniel Conrad (Amy) of Powatan, Va., Donna Guzy of St. Joseph, Mary Conrad of Zanesville, Ohio, Matthew Conrad (Patsy) of Hopewell, Ohio, and Barbara Cook of De Beque, Colo.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Lucille was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Ms. Conrad was a devoted mother who was able to stay home with her children as they grew up. Later in life, she worked at Lumi-Lite candle factory in Norwich, Ohio, on their wedding line. When she retired, she moved back to Illinois. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran of St. Joseph and the Low Vision Group. She was also a proud alumna of Iota Sigma and enjoyed reading.
