Marlene M. Chapman

OGDEN — Marlene M. Chapman, 80, of Ogden passed away at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2018) at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Urbana.
Celebration of life services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph. The Rev. Kathy Murphy will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Marlene was born Feb. 27, 1937, at Union Township, Cumberland County, the daughter of Norman and Phylis Darling Repp. She married David K. Chapman in 1968. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Marsha (Bob)Silver of Sadorus, Richard
(Pam) Chapman of Broadlands, Angie Norman of Monticello and Penny (Jim) Vickers of Ogden; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol (Rusty) Miller of Bradenton, Fla.; and son-in-law, Kenny Shobe of Casey.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Mickie Shobe.
Marlene retired from the Ogden Grade School as the head cook.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, wintering in Florida and shooting trap. She also loved horses, traveling, John Wayne — and a life with her favorite cowboy, her husband David.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
