ST. JOSEPH — Mitzie Diane Marshky Apperson, 60, of St. Joseph went to be with our Lord on Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2018) surrounded by her loving family in the home of her brother, Tom Marshky.
Mitzie was born on Jan. 20, 1958, in Champaign, to the late Thomas H. Marshky Sr. and Barbara Slade Marshky (surviving). She is survived by two brothers, Thomas H. (Rebekah) Marshky Jr. of Naples, Fla., and Troy Marshky of Urbana. She has two children, Shawn Marshky of Naples, Fla., and Shannon Apperson (Mitch) Bensyl of Broadlands.
Mitzie has three grandchildren, Kelsi Carlson (Travis Kriticos), Jacob Carlson and Alex Bensyl; three step-grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and Mary Bensyl; and two greatgrandchildren, Kayden and Dalton Kriticos. All live in Illinois.
She is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas H. Marshky Sr., and her maternal grandparents, Arthur R. and Ruby B. (Smalley) Slade.
Mitzie was well-known as a loving and exceptional caregiver to the many people she cared for. There is so much you could say about this wonderful and loving person that it would fill the galaxy. She will be missed and loved by everyone she knew.
